My kids know that I am a marketing and advertising guy, but they would constantly ask, “Yeah, but what to you DO at work?”
After many attempts to answer this to their satisfaction, I finally told them, “I am a storyteller”.
I find the stories in data, in insights and in intuition, and convey them in the most compelling and illustrative way I know how.
On paper, you can see that I have unique combination of client-side brand management and advertising agency experience that spans over two decades. I am not a dreamer, I am a businessman who has an active and fertile imagination grounded in the need for intelligent, high return-on-investment approaches.
As a brand champion at American Home Products, Block Drug, Novartis and Gerber and as a senior leader at Saatchi & Saatchi, Grey, Rosetta and Publicis Healthcare advertising agencies I have successfully launched new products, extracted value from mature products, and led the development of well-defined brand strategies and advertising approaches across a wide range of product categories – from household products, foods and over-the-counter remedies to high-tech prescription products. I even invented and launched new products for toddlers and breastfeeding mothers.
The many dimensions of my life include being a loving husband and father, a lover of fine wine, a painter, illustrator, sculptor, song writer for my family’s lifecycle events, and a writer of a series of adventure stories that will likely never be read by those beyond my immediate family.
I love to share what I have learned, and hope to hear from those who find it helpful.
